UP AME turns 22!

UP Anime Manga Enthusiasts turns 22 on November 28, 2022! Over the past 22 years, UP AME has had tons of fun activities to celebrate our love and passion for anime, manga, and everything in between and we don’t plan to stop! That’s over 8,000 days of weebness and we couldn’t have done it without you. From the bottom of our hearts, we would like to thank you all for being part of this journey. 22 YEARS OF UP AME

Here are 22 UP AME feats over the last 22 years!

Annie Mae & Buru

Annie Mae and Buru are our treasured mascots! They are integral in our designs and you’ll often find them in a lot of our events and publicity materials. Over the years, we have made lots of art featuring these two. If you see these mascots, you know for sure that UP AME is involved. Want to know more about them? Follow our FB Page for more details!

TAMBAYAN

Over the years, UP AME has had a number of tambayans. This is an exclusive place for us to hang out and do our org activities. We are also responsible for taking care of it! Our tambayan is typically a kubo which can be found near the CAL building. It is situated in a grassy area along with other tambayans. If you have the time, don’t be shy to drop by!

AME Fairs

AME Fairs have been a long standing tradition that UP AME is proud of. Over the years, we have had numerous fairs ranging from small ones to big conventions. AME fairs typically have a variety of activities. There are also different themes per event. We would love to see you in our next AME Fair. Follow our FB Page so you won’t miss our next announcement! AME Cafe

AME also hosts various Anime Cafes. We have various themes and even partner with other organizations! Once you’ve experienced an AME Cafe, we are sure you will want to experience another one. ACLE

On the academic side, UP AME also hosts ACLE. This is an event wherein the organization prepares a rather unique learning experience for students even outside the organization. AMEng Handog

We also love to give back to the community. UP AME is proud to frequently help other people, especially outside the campus. We do various activities and charity work ranging from animal feeding to educational assistance. This is usually an internal event but we might do an external one too. GRAND ALUMNI HOMECOMING

We also keep in touch with our dear alumni! We make sure to keep this tradition alive in order for our bonds to remain strong and get to know our senpais. This is traditionally held every five years and is an internal event. In fact, we had one this year! If ever it becomes an external event, you don’t want to miss it! Holiday Celebrations

We also love to celebrate holidays. There are various holidays and events throughout the year. These special days are also special for us. We make sure to celebrate these with others and even feature it in our FB page. In fact, you’re reading this as part of our anniversary celebration! Acquaintance Party

As part of our application process, we also have our acquaintance party! There are lots of fun activities involved and everyone is invited! There will be alumni, members, and applicants. This way we get to know a lot of people and have fun while doing so. We’ve also had online and offline events so we are sure there’s a little something for everyone. Want to know more about them? Articles

What’s an anime org without some anime reviews? That’s right we write lots of anime reviews and recommendations! But that’s not all, we also write about a lot of different things ranging from manga, events, japanese culture, live action, games, and everything in between. In fact, you’re reading an article right now! We also share our articles on various platforms. Follow our FB Page for more details!

Workshops

We also do workshops to improve our skills and share what we know with others. Typically, our committees are in charge of hosting these workshops. There are also times where we collaborate with others to bring the most effective experience to our attendees. These are typically internal workshops but, if we do host an external one, you would not want to miss it! Follow our FB Page so you won’t miss our next announcement!

Applicant's Orientation

Before our application process officially starts, we hold our own applicant’s orientation! This is where we introduce our organization to potential applicants and anyone who’s interested in our organization. There’s really nothing to lose when joining our organization and you get to learn more about us. Plus, we also have lots of fun activities and prizes for you! Organization Fair

We also participate in Organization Fairs! Here, you can find us among other organizations and learn all about us. If you can join the on-ground fair, you’ll get to meet us in person. You’ll also be able to see and participate in our activities. We also have merchandise for sale there and have some instagram worthy mascots and cosplayers with us. Partnerships

UP AME is not the only organization in UP. There are a lot of other organizations inside and outside of UP. As such, we also partner with these organizations to expand our reach and bring anime and manga to more people! We also can’t do everything alone so it’s good to collaborate with others to make our events truly the best. If ever you see us with other organizations, don’t be surprised and join in on the fun! Kami to ki

Kamitoki is our official publication. This is basically our newspaper wherein we write about events and activities that we have done. We can also freely express ourselves and share our opinion with others. This is usually printed but we have also transitioned to online/digital format. AME Talk Series

AME Talk Series is a new AME project! This is where we invite some notable speakers to give us a talk. This is a more formal event than our other events and the discussion here can be quite deep. This is also one of our most academic projects and requires a lot of research and work to do. Nevertheless, we are proud of how this has turned out and we’re sure to continue it! AME After Hours

AME After Hours is our podcast series. This is mainly handled by our Academics and Research Committee but you’ll also see and hear from a lot of our members as well. This is where we talk about a lot of things, anime-related or not. This usually runs for about an hour so you’ll have a lot to listen to. Merchandise

You wouldn’t have an anime org without merch, right? Yes! We have lots of merch ranging from stickers to shirts and other cool stuff! These are not limited to anime-related merch but a lot are inspired by it. These are personally done by our talented members and we worked really hard to make it worth a purchase! You’ll be able to buy our merch at our events. We also do online selling so make sure to check out our FB Page to find out what we’ve got in stock!

Games

We love to play games too! Not only do we take part in popular games, we also make our own games! These games are played in our events either online or offline. Of course, we also have prizes for our winners! In UP AME, there’s always something fun to do that caters all ages. We also try to be creative in our games to keep things more interesting. AME Friday

AME Fridays are our weekly bonding time. As the name suggests, it’s held every week on Friday. Here, we chill in each other’s company and do some fun activities. It’s a great way to end the week and really gives us a break from all the academic and organizational work that we’ve been doing all week. Buddies

As part of our application process, we also have our buddy system. Buddies are applicant’s well… buddies! You know they’ve got your back and will surely help you through the application process. We’ve also planned some fun activities for buddies which will help you get closer with your buddies! Buddies are exclusive to AME members so if you want one, come and be part of the AME family!
