This pairing is an old time favorite. A bond between two bestfriends that tenderly supports one another through hard times is definitely lovable. Clamp’s Card Captor Sakura tours us around different forms of love, just like this pairing. Touya and Yukito are the one of great ‘open secret’ grandpairings of BL ships. They are also one of pairings that have opened the eyes of the many fujoshi and fudanshi out there. A pair composed of an understanding seme and an adorable uke is what we need!
9: Kururugi Suzaku x Lelouch Lamperouge (Code Geass)

Childhood friends separated by the war. Both have the same ideals to create a peaceful world. An outcast prince turned rebel and an Eleven working for Britannia.
Lelouch has the brains but not much gains. Suzaku has the stamina and physical abilities. Add them together and you get a perfect yaoi pair. It’s like a nerd plus a jock. I think we all know who has the potential to be the seme here *wink wink*
8: Heiwajima Shizuo x Orihara Izaya (Durarara!!)

“IIIZAAAYAAA!!!” When it comes with these two, it’s all pumping adrenaline of the chase. Violence in the form of switchblades and flying vending machines summarizes the relationship between this two. Rivals since middle school and polar opposites of each other -Shizuo with his monstrous strength and Izaya with his great intellect, the clashing personalities of these two stirs up a good amount of sexual tension each time they meet. Despite the rejection of each other’s existence, the peculiar awareness that the two have for each other can be almost read as obssession. Theirs is a love so twisted -the best example of the fine line between love and hate.
7: Bakugou Katsuki x Todoroki Shouto x Midoriya Izuku (Boku no Hero Academia)
There are a LOT of good ships in Boku no Hero Academia. The characters are just so diverse, making their interactions all the more enjoyable to watch and fantasize over. Such is the case for this trio of BEST BOYS. This list was originally supposed to only contain pairs but the arguments that ensued (and friendships ended) when trying to figure out whether to put in TodoDeku or BakuDeku were so intense that we just opted for this compromise. Shipping war reasons aside, these three actually have a really good relationship dynamic going on that leaving them as a threesome actually works better! All three of these precious boys have been greatly inspired by All Might and yet they all channel this inspiration differently.
6: Usagi Akihiko x Takahashi Misaki (Junjou Romantica)
How they actually became a couple is pretty surprising. Akihiko originally liked Misaki’s brother, who’s straight. But then Misaki gets to be tutored and Akihiko and it pretty much starts from there. Misaki has already come to terms with his feelings for Akihiko, but the problem now is what happens when he finishes college. Misaki’s brother is clueless about the relationship of the two, and he wants Misaki to find a place of his own when he graduates. Misaki wants to continue living with Akihiko, and he’s willing to admit his relationship if it’s the only way to stay.
5: Kageyama Tobio x Hinata Shouyo (Haikyuu!!)
“As long as I’m here you’re invincible,” was Kageyama’s promise to Hinata at the beginning of their partnership. He promises to bring out the full potential of Hinata’s abilities. Later on the series Hinata returns the same words to Kageyama. He promises faith in Kageyama’s tosses and relentlessly jumps when others would hesitate. It seems as if these two were destined to become partners from their first meeting on different sides of the net. Now that their on the same team these two are ready to soar their way to Nationals with their team and with each other.
4: Takao Kazunari x Midorima Shintaro (Kuroko no Basket)
Also known as Midorima x Takao. Perhaps the best known duo after Kuroko and Kagami, these two guards of Shutoku have pretty clashing personalities. While Takao is fun and easy going, Midorima is reserved and doesn’t like fooling around. The two are almost always seen together. With Takao’s constant “Shin-chan~” and trying to get Midorima to do fun things and loosen up a bit (take that however you like), this may be where the saying “Opposites attract” can be applied.
3: Takano Masamune x Onodera Ritsu (Sekaiichi Hatsukoi)
“First loves never last.” That’s the cliche this BL manga tries to break. Takano and Ritsu were highschool sweethearts that broke up after a misunderstanding, only to meet several years later. Ritsu has erased his beloved senpai’s face from memory but Takano has never forgotten Ritsu’s. The cutest game of cat and mouse ensues when Takano tries to woo Ritsu all over again while Ritsu denies his feelings tsundere style. Read the manga or watch the anime to cheer on Takano’s unwavering and desperate devotion for the scared but loyal Ritsu, who is going to fall in love any time soon.
2: Viktor Nikiforov x Katsuki Yuuri (Yuri on Ice!!)
Viktor and Yuuri’s love story pretty much represents the famous line from their opening, “We were born to make history.” Episode 7 literally broke Tumblr with just one scene, and who could forget the wedding bells that rang from the ending of episode 9 and continued on to episode 10? Mitsurou Kubo, Yuri on Ice’s co-writer said in an interview that Yuri on Ice is a world in which anybody can love who they want without being judged and it is a world that she will protect. It’s been a quite a journey for twelve episodes as Victor and Yuuri each discover life and love and a journey for the viewers as well as they watch their story unfold one routine at a time.

While they’re not explicitly together, we shippers and fangirls at least get to see their relationship continue beyond their adolescent years as mentors of each other’s children. Their time and trial tested friendship, rivalry, and companionship is what sets these two apart.
